Release 2305.1 - 07/03/2023

Release 2305.1

Scheduled on Monday, 07/03/2023

  • This update introduces essential integrations that enhance the entire process from quote to revenue, such as tax calculations via Avalara Tax and revenue recognition through RightRev.

Feature Enhancements

Nue Lifecycle Manager

Ability to use Avalara Tax to calculate taxes for quotes and orders

  • Configuration: (1) Users have the ability to establish a connection between Nue and either an Avalara sandbox or production instance; (2) Users can customize the Tax Mode (Inclusive or Exclusive) and Tax Code for each product listed in the Product Catalog.
  • Tax Calculation: When a quote or order is created or modified, the tax amount for each line item will be automatically calculated. This calculation takes into account the Tax Code and Tax Mode configured for the respective product. It also considers the shipping address provided in the quote or order, or the shipping address associated with the corresponding account.

Ability to enable or disable the synchronization of a primary quote to the associated opportunity at the field level

  • By default, when a primary quote is synchronized with its corresponding opportunity, all fields from the quote are automatically synchronized with the designated opportunity fields. However, admin users have the flexibility to customize this synchronization process in two ways: (1) The synchronization can be disabled altogether; (2) The synchronization can be enabled, but only specific custom fields, chosen from a list, will be synchronized from the primary quote to the opportunity.

When a consumption-based line item is added to a quote or an order, the quantity is defaulted to 0.

  • When a user adds a consumption-based (Overage Usage, Pay As You Go) line item to a quote or an order, the line item is initially set with a default quantity of 0.

Nue Revenue Manager

Ability to recognize revenue via integrations with RightRev

  • Nue introduces its Revenue Recognition model through seamless integrations with RightRev, allowing admin users to establish the RightRev connection within Nue. Activating the connection provisions a RightRev tenant with various components such as legal entity, accounting periods, default revenue rules, customer contracts, default order and invoice policies, and more. These default policy configurations can be further customized by users.  Once orders, invoices, and credit memos are activated in Nue, they are automatically sent to RightRev for revenue recognition processes. As a result, revenue contracts are created or updated accordingly. To access revenue contracts, users can utilize either Nue Lifecycle Manager for a specific customer or Nue Revenue Manager for all customers.

Nue Billing Accelerator

Ability to generate invoices and credit memos in the biling process when multi-currency is enabled

  • When multi-currency is turned on, sales users can create quotes and orders in any currency that the organization supports. Once orders are activated, they will be billed in the currency chosen for the order.

Nue Usage Accelerator

Ability to cancel a usage record

  • In certain instances, users may encounter situations where inaccurate raw usage data is ingested, which would have been utilized by Nue to generate and rate usage records. In such cases, users have the option to cancel one or a group of usage records either through the user interface or by using the usage API.  When a usage record is canceled, all associated raw usage records connected to it are also canceled. Additionally, any usage records that were generated and rated subsequent to the canceled record will also be canceled.

Ability to ingest raw usage for usage-type subscriptions in various different currencies, and view the rated usage in different currencies

  • Once multi-currency is enabled, Rev Ops users can upload or ingest raw usage for usage-type subscriptions in various currencies that are configured within the organization. The Nue Rating Engine will consolidate the raw usage data into usage records and rate them based on the currency associated with the respective usage-type subscription. Users have the flexibility to view the rated usage in different currencies, offering a range of currency options for analysis and assessment.

Bug Fixes

Nue Platform

Upon logging in, users will only have access to active user profiles associated with tenants. Any tenants linked to inactive user profiles will not be available for selection.

  • When a user logs into the Nue App and has access to multiple tenants within the same organization, they will see a list of the tenants they can choose from for login. However, if the user profile for one of the active tenants is inactive, that specific tenant will no longer be available for selection by the user.

Unable to login to Nue using Salesforce credentials

  • Previously, users encountered an issue when attempting to log into the Nue App using their Salesforce credentials. After entering their credentials in Salesforce, the expected redirect back to the Nue App login page was not functioning properly. However, this issue has now been resolved, and users should be able to successfully log in using their Salesforce credentials without any redirection problems.
