Revenue Lifecycle Intelligence

Analytics plays a pivotal role in quote-to-revenue processes and across the entire revenue lifecycle by providing invaluable insights that drive informed decision-making and optimization of business operations.

 

Through analytics, organizations can gain a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of their revenue lifecycle, including sales performance, customer behavior, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasting. By analyzing data from quotes, sales orders, invoices, payments, and other revenue-related activities, businesses can identify trends, patterns, and key drivers influencing revenue generation and customer satisfaction. 

 

Nue's Lifecycle Intelligence offers customers a robust set of reporting and data visualization capabilities, These capabilities are delivered through two channels:

 

  1. Salesforce Reporting: Nue integrates seamlessly with Salesforce, empowering customers to leverage its powerful reporting features. Users can access pre-built Salesforce reports tailored to visualize data across various stages of the revenue lifecycle. Moreover, customers have the flexibility to create custom reports and dashboards within Salesforce, utilizing Nue's object model to map data seamlessly across the entire quote-to-cash processes. This integration enhances visibility and empowers users to derive actionable insights directly within their familiar Salesforce environment.

  2. Lifecycle Dashboards: Embedded within the Nue platform, Lifecycle Dashboards offer an alternative avenue for accessing real-time insights into revenue lifecycle processes. These dashboards are crafted using data aggregated from a centralized data warehouse, ensuring consistency and reliability. The suite of dashboards encompasses key facets of the revenue lifecycle, including Pipeline, Booking, and Billing & Collections. 

By combining Salesforce reporting capabilities with dedicated Lifecycle Dashboards, Nue's Lifecycle Intelligence empowers customers with a holistic view of their revenue lifecycle. Whether accessing insights within Salesforce or through Nue's platform, users gain access to actionable data, facilitating strategic decision-making and driving business success.

 

Salesforce Reports

Nue provides a comprehensive, yet simple-to-understand object model that can be used to build charts and reports across the entire revenue lifecycle easily.

 

The majority of Nue's object data is mirrored in Salesforce, allowing users to create reports directly using Salesforce Reporting functions. Additionally, Nue offers a selection of pre-built reports within Salesforce. Users have the option to utilize these reports as is or customize them further to suit their specific needs.

 

Users can locate Nue Reports by following the steps below: 

  • Login to Salesforce
  • Use the App Launcher to navigate to Nue on Salesforce app
  • Click on 'Reports' tab
  • Click "All Folders" and select "Nue Reports"

 

Revenue Signature Dashboard

When users log into the Nue App, by default, they will see a Revenue Signature Dashboard that contains the following 7 visualizations of pre-built Salesforce reports:

Upcoming New BusinessKPIThe cumulative Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) from upcoming new subscriptions starting within the next 120 days.  
Upcoming RenewalKPIThe cumulative Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) from upcoming renewals starting within the next 120 days.
Upcoming CancellationKPIThe cumulative Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) lost from down-sells and cancellations starting within the next 120 days. 
ARR MomentumMulti-axis Bar ChartProvides a visual representation of a company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) over time. It shows the monthly or quarterly ARR numbers on the y-axis and the time period on the x-axis. 

 

All 7 reports above can be further sliced by Month, Quarter and Year.  Users can click on "Settings" to customize the layout of the dashboards.

 

These reports are directly generated from the data of the connected Salesforce instance.

 

 

Lifecyle Dashboards

Nue also provides a comprehensive suite of dashboards designed to revolutionize the understanding of revenue lifecycles within businesses.  These dashboards serve as a cornerstone of Nue's revenue lifecycle platform, providing real-time insights across the entire quote-to-revenue process.

Analytics Data Flows

Nue synchronizes the transaction data to a centralized data warehouse on a timely basis with a default frequency of every 6 hours.  Users can also run a data sync on an on-demand basis, and adjust the sync schedule. 

 

System admininistrators can manage the data flows by following the steps below: 

  • Login to Nue App, and click "Settings" icon
  • Search for "Data Flow Manager", or click 'Data Flow Manager" tile under "Nue Platform" category to launch the Data Flow Manager

Users can view the scheduled sync statuses, and click "Run Now" to run a Full Data Sync, Sync Now, or Schedule Sync, as shown in the following screenshot.

Pre-built Dashboads

Nue offers three pre-built dashboards designed to facilitate the analysis and visualization of data throughout the complete revenue lifecycle: 

  • Booking Dashboard
    • The booking dashboard provides you insights into the booking information of a recurring business. It serves as a central hub for monitoring critical metrics, with a focus on Today's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and ARR Momentum. 

  • Pipeline Dashboard
    • The Pipeline Dashboard provides a comprehensive analysis of the pipeline to cash process, offering valuable insights into the progression of opportunities and the efficiency of the sales process.
  • Billing & Collections
    • The Biling and Collections dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of financial transactions and invoice management within the organization. It includes key charts such as total invoiced amounts, total received payments, and invoice aging analysis.  Users can use these charts to effectively monitor billing performance, track cash flow, and optimize collections strategies to ensure financial health and stability. 

Each pre-built dashboard offers the login user the following capabilities to explore the data: 

  • Page-level filtering using Revenue Signature components: Users can apply filters at the page level to customize the data displayed based on Revenue Signature components, including Team, Time Frame, Accounts, Products, Product Categories, etc.
  • Export to PDF: Users can export the entire dashboard content to PDF format by clicking on "Export" button on top of the dashboard for easy distribution and presentation purposes.
  • Open Doc: Users can click "Open Doc" button on top of the dashboard to open the documentation in a separate browser.  
  • Export to CSV, Excel, JSON, PDF: Each chart of the dashboard allows users to export data to CSV, Excel, JSON, or PDF format for further analysis or sharing with stakeholders.
  • Drill-down: Users can right click on any data point in a bar or pie chart to drill down into specific data points or categories to gain deeper insights and analyze underlying trends or patterns.

Customize Dashboards

 This feature is available in 2403 release. 

 

Admin users can also customize the dashboards in the following ways: 

  • Customize the system dashboards
  • Create a new custom dashboard
  • Reset to system default configurations

Analytics

  • Manage Dashboards

 

Customize System Dashoard

Admin users can rename the system dashboard, or even create a new dashboard that replaces the system dashboard.  Please contact Nue Customer Success team if you wish you create a custom copy of the system dashboad.  

 

You can follow the steps below to customize any of the pre-built system dashboards: 

  • Login to Nue App
  • Navigate to Settings
  • Search for "Analytics"
  • In the Dashboard section, click on 'Edit' icon to edit the properties of the selected system dashboad.
    • When the dashboard name is changed, the dashboard menu item will be renamed accordingly.
    • Please enter a valid Embed ID of the dashboard.  Otherwise, the dashboard will fail to load.  

Create Custom Dashboard

Admin users can create new dashboard, and see the dashboard appear in the Dashboard menu.  

You can follow the steps below to customize any of the pre-built system dashboards: 

  • Login to Nue App
  • Navigate to Settings
  • Search for "Analytics"
  • In the Dashboard section, click on New Dashboard button and enter the Name of the Embed ID of the custom dashboard.  
    • Please enter a unique name, and a valid Embed ID.  Otherwise, the dashboard will fail to load.  

 

When the user clicks 'Save and Close', a new dashboard menu item will be inserted in the Dashboard menu, under the system dashboards, as shown below.

 

Revert to System Defaults

Users have the option to select the 'Revert to System Defaults' button to eliminate all customizations made to the dashboards.  This action includes: 

  • Restore the name and Embed URL of the system dashboards to their pre-built configurations
  • Remove all the custom dashboards

Enabling Lifecycle Dashboards in Nue on Salesforce

Salesforce admins can enable Lifecycle Dashboards as individual tabs in Nue on Salesforce after they are configured in the Nue app. Please note that enabling a particular lifecycle dashboard for a user grants them access to all data visualized in that dashboard. Ensure you enable access to these dashboards according to your security and permissioning requirements.

Permission Set for Nue Revenue Lifecycle Dashboards

In the Nue on Salesforce managed package, there is a permission set named "Nue Revenue Lifecycle Intelligence Permission Set". This permission set grants access to view the Nue revenue lifecycle dashboard tabs. Specifically, it sets the Tab Access for the following three objects to both Available and Visible:

  • Pipeline Dashboard
  • Booking Dashboard
  • Billing and Collections Dashboard

Assigning the Permission Set to Users

To enable all three lifecycle dashboards for a specific user, assign this permission set by following these steps:

  1. Login to Salesforce.
  2. Navigate to Setup → Users.
  3. Open a Specific User: Click on the user's name and then click 'Permission Set Assignment'.
  4. Edit Assignments: Click 'Edit Assignments' and add 'Nue Revenue Lifecycle Intelligence Permission Set' to the Enabled Permission Sets column.

The user with this permission set should now be able to see and launch the three new dashboards in the Nue on Salesforce app.

Assigning a Subset of Dashboards

If you need to assign a subset of the lifecycle dashboards to specific users, you can clone the permission set and edit the tab settings by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Permission Sets: In Setup, type "Permission Sets" in the Quick Find box and select it.
  2. Clone the Permission Set: Locate 'Nue Revenue Lifecycle Intelligence Permission Set', click on it, and then click 'Clone'. Name the cloned set and save it.
  3. Edit the Cloned Permission Set:
    • Open the cloned permission set.
    • Go to the "Object Settings" section.
    • Find and edit the "Pipeline Dashboard", "Booking Dashboard", and "Billing and Collections Dashboard" settings as needed.
  4. Assign the Cloned Permission Set: Follow the same steps as above to assign the cloned permission set to users.

This process allows you to customize which lifecycle dashboards are available and visible to specific users based on your security and permissioning requirements.

Putting It Altogether

Nue Analytics empowers organizations with comprehensive insights across the revenue lifecycle.

 

Leveraging Salesforce Reports and pre-built dashboards, users can analyze critical metrics like Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), bookings, upsells, and more.

 

With the Revenue Signature Dashboard, users gain immediate access to key reports upon login.
