Manage Custom Attributes in Price Book Entries
Companies may want to have specific attributes associated with each price book entry of a product. For example,
- Color: Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, RED (TM), White
- Size: S, M, L
- Number of Hosted Users: 50, 100, 1000, 1000+
- Reports & Dashboards: Enabled / Disabled
These attribute values assist sales reps in gaining a better understanding of product pricing. However, depending on the attributes selected, the price may or may not be unique. If the custom attribute values lead to a different price, these custom attributes are classified as Pricing Attributes.
The key distinctions between standard custom attributes in price book entries and pricing attributes are as follows:
- Sales reps can browse price book entries with all available custom attribute combinations in the product selector when creating a quote or order.
Price book entries can also be used as filters when searching for products in the product selector.
In this article, we'll guide you through the process of creating custom attributes in price book entries, editing custom attributes in list prices, and utilizing them when selecting products in the quote line editor.
